St. Philip’s in Wiscasset plans vase-painting party
Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars has had such fun with past paint parties in St. Philip’s Lippiat Hall at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset, that the group is holding another, but this time attendees will be shifting from painting on canvas to painting on glass.
Friday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., Liz Murphy of Ello Sunshine Events will lead the budding artists through the steps of bringing their creations to fruition. Participants will be painting a flowery decoration on a glass vase that they can take home and use for a Mother’s Day gift, or as a perky vase for spring flowers. For a charge of $30 for the experience, people will be given all supplies and instruction for their creations.
As is Feed Our Scholars custom, there will be a dessert table to give an energy boost for the painters. Vegan, lactose free, and sugar free items will be available. Coffee, tea and water will round out the snack portion of the occasion.
A generous contribution of a floral display from Water St. Flowers and Gifts will be a raffle prize for some lucky participant to take home to add to the spring weekend’s enjoyment. Raffle proceeds will also be dedicated to providing weekend food and school supplies for students to start the new school year, the group’s initiatives made all the more important as funding for food and school programs is cut, but is still needed by students.
Be a part of helping to support successful students while having a fun night out. To register, please contact St. Philip's Church at 882-7184, leaving a name and number of participants, as well as a phone number for followup, or go to feedourscholars@gmail.com for questions or to make a reservation. But hurry; needing time for planning, Liz Murphy asks for numbers of participants by April 26.
